Born Of Osiris = Awesomeness

I am making a prediction that within a year Born Of Osiris is going to be big in the Metal scene. They've self released quite a few albums, mostly demo's, and I haven't heard much of that. But in 2007 they signed to Sumerian Records and recorded their first real full length album 'The New Reign'. Amazing album, pick it up, they are an amazing original band. If you like mathcore or progressive metal, or even metalcore or deathcore you will love this. Seriously some of the most original stuff I've heard in metal to date.

Now they are recording their next album right now, and it is due out in spring. If it is anything like their last album they will definitely take off. They were touring all summer with some pretty known bands, and even toured in the summer slaughter tour.

Check these guys out, and I can't wait for the new album!

Breakdowns

I absolutely love breakdowns. For those of you that don't know what a breakdown in music is, or don't know much about them... It is when the song slows down it's tempo, usually in half time, then there are all sorts of various things they do. Some bands switch from screaming to singing, those are called metalcore bands, while other bands just go from hardcore guitar and drums to more simple and easyer listing music and sometimes keep screaming, or they will sing or scream the same sentence or words over again so in live concerts it gives the crowed a chance to sing along. Breakdowns make a song really catchy and as far as I'm concerned better structured.

I find that most modern metal bands have breakdowns. I don't really listen to much metal unless it has breakdowns in it.

Killswitch Engage In Studio

Hey Guys, You will find out that Killswitch Engage is one of my favorite bands. Probably my favorite actually! Anyways they are in the studio this month and will have a new album out sometime next spring! I'm hoping half a year is enough time to put a good album out. I don't want to see them start to go downhill. But they are all very talented so I can't see it happening!

A little bit about this New site!

Well this site is up now, I want to welcome you all here and hope you enjoy your stay and find and learn lots of interesting things. I have a lot of knowledge and a lot of opinions about Modern Metal, negative and positive. Well mostly positive or I wouldn't have started this site. I hope you check back often to see my new blogs!!

I encourage you to post blogs on here or reply to my blogs. Lets try and keep it about Modern Metal, you know stuff from 2000 and up. But if we have to go a little old school Metal sometimes that's fine. That's where it all started anyways.

I also see about three or four metal bands a year, and you will hear all about and see all the pictures when I see them. I have some pictures that I have to recover from my old HDD from bands like Killswitch Engage, BLS, Dragonforce, Bullet for My Valentine, and more! I'll be posting details about those concerts also.
